The worldwide touring event of The Electric Run made its way to Melbourne this April. Held at Flemington Racecourse the fun run snaked its way around the racecourse wowing participants with themed and coloured worlds lit up by Resolution X.
Res X project managers, Andrew Arney & Mark Hopkins lead a team of many, which included five System Tech’s and six LX Operators. The mammoth task involved setting up over 450 lighting fixtures spread out over the 5km course. Installing the fixtures over three very wet and windy days, the Res X lighting fixtures stood up to the challenge, and by start time 100% of the fixtures were up and running.
“Your gear stood up to gruelling conditions with remarkable success – and no doubt due to the care, attention and forethought put in by all.” Electric Run Production manager
The inventory consisted of over 350 LED Pars and floods plus an additional 35 UV Floods including Res X’s new Chauvet LED UV Floods. Other fixtures included Clay Paky Sharpy’s, Mac 700 Profiles, Mac 301’s, Atomic Strobes, and ETC S4 Profiles, all of which required the installation of over 16 klm of data and power cable.
The great preparation and up keep of the Res X fixtures meant problem solving was kept to a minimum onsite. The Resolution X crew onsite battled through driving rain, strong winds and mud, and still managed to keep on smiling. It is testament to all involved that even under great pressure, Res X still managed to pull off a highly successful event.
“You guys are equal to the best lighting companies in the world… The attention to detail shown in the final product shows that you care.” The US Technical Director
