AWS Summit Sydney 2024

AWS Summit Sydney 2024

Amazon’s renowned AWS Summit Sydney, orchestrated by the award-winning global experience design company Imagination, recently took place over two inspiring days in April at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event showcased cutting-edge AWS tools and transformative technologies. The Resolution X Sydney team managed the monumental task of providing lighting, brilliantly led by Andrew Davies, Jonathan Pirard, and lighting designer Ziggy Ziegler.

Our talented Sydney crew poured in 1,500 hours over 8 intensive days to ensure the event’s success. The summit spanned the entire ICC, using 1,200 fixtures, 7km of Weilands, 10km of 240v extensions, and 13km of DMX. This equated to a whopping five semi-trailer loads of equipment!

Every lighting design throughout the ICC was meticulously crafted to elevate the distinctive characteristics and functions of each space. In the Expo halls, 160 Prolights ECLpars IPMFC were picked for their colour rendition to illuminate the dropdown banners which grandly hung from the ceilings, while hundreds of moving heads lit up sponsor stands and ten theatrettes. This was all controlled via MA3 with 15 networked stations and supported by 6 Unitours and 2 Stagesmarts C72TV.

The plenary conference took place in the ICC Theatre and featured a design consisting of Ayrton Dominos and Perseos, ShowPRO Diamondback LED Bars, and ECL Cyc050, creating stunning visuals that captivated and engaged attendees. Over in the Convention Centre, an executive lineup of 70 ShowPRO Dreampix Strips driven by PIXERA and additional MAC Aura XIP fixtures highlighted the Executive Leaders area with impactful presence.

The ResX Sydney team’s expertise and commitment shone through, delivering a truly exceptional event that lived up to its expectation at one of the world’s most prominent tech industry events.

A special acknowledgment goes to ResX’s Lead System tech Jonathan Parker and Brendan Malone, alongside Board Operators Darcy Cook, Ben Ronczka, and Chris Pierson.
