Missy Higgins toured the country with her latest show, The Second Act, celebrating the 20th anniversary of her iconic album, ‘The Sound of White.’
The Second Act Tour visited theatres nationwide with a unique two-part act. The first set featured brand-new songs and fan favourites, all performed in a stripped-back, acoustic mode. After intermission, Missy returned with her full band to perform The Sound Of White in its entirety, along with some of her other hits.
Missy Higgins long time Lighting designer, Kait Hall, designed a stunning rig to accompany the tour, creating two vastly different looks for both halves of the performance.
Resolution X partnered with Kait with the tour to provide our expertise in designing custom touring frames for the floor package, all crafted by our highly skilled in-house team. The lighting design also featured two exceptional fixtures: the Claypaky Panify and the ShowPRO DiamondBack LED Bar from Show Technology.
The Claypaky Panify is known for its innovative design, allowing for a wide range of dynamic effects that could be tailored to each song. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for creating moods that range from intimate and subtle to bold and dramatic.
The ShowPRO DiamondBack LED Bar, on the other hand, is celebrated for its powerful output and precision. This fixture added a layer of depth and dimension to the stage, making every performance feel larger-than-life. Its ability to deliver sharp, clear illumination ensured that every moment on stage was perfectly highlighted, enhancing the overall visual impact of the show.
By integrating these two fixtures into the lighting design, Kait created a visual experience that was emotionally resonant as Missy Higgins’ music. The combination of the Panify’s dynamic effects and the DiamondBack’s powerful output created a stage environment that evolved with the music, providing a visually captivating experience that fans will remember.
