Tkay Maidza – Vivid Live

Tkay Maidza, the Zimbabwe-born, Australian-raised singer and rapper made her make her long-awaited debut at the Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Live. A key part of the look and feel of the show was a floor package of fourteen Prolights EclPanel TWCs supplied by Resolution X. Attached to scaff pipe to minimise rigging, this clean solution allowed the panels to shine.

“We knew the artist was going to do a big, flowery set but that her music is very London-club, trap-rap, so we wanted a big difference in looks – nice big swathes of colour through to sharp, pixel squares that are brash and harsh,” said Tom Wright, the lighting designer. The Prolights EclPanel TWCs fitted this brief well, and the results speak for themselves.
