The Aurora is a single-universe DMX/RDM transceiver, capable of transmitting and receiving both CRMX and legacy W-DMX protocols. This compact unit has an enhanced radio design that allows for increased range and reliability. The unit is fitted with an intuitive colour screen, making it easier to configure locally. It can also be linked via Bluetooth to the CRMX Toolbox App for configuration via smartphone or tablet.
The Aurora is equipped with a built-in WiFi access point which can receive sACN and Art-Net from a smartphone or tablet. The 5-pin XLR can be used as input or output for DMX/RDM from any source. The unit has an industry-standard 5ms fixed latency, error correction and 128 bit encryption at full refresh rate for a full universe.
Aurora uses Cognitive Coexistence which is LumenRadio’s patented technology for real-time adaptive frequency hopping. CRMX systems automatically scan and adapt to the RF environment 1500 times per second. If disturbances are detected, the system will move to frequencies that are currently not disturbed.
Compatibility
Historically there have been limitations in compatibility between W-DMX and CRMX technologies. The Aurora has three different transmit modes, for integration with existing legacy W-DMX receivers. W-DMX G3 mode is recommended for maximum backward compatibility with W-DMX but security and DMX fidelity is not as good as when running CRMX mode.
