ResolutionX & Mediatec Showcase

Late August saw a spectacular production showcase from two industry giants – ResolutionX and Mediatec.  Spread across two days at the Docklands Studios in Melbourne, the two companies unveiled a visually spectacular extravaganza, showing off some of their most popular products on a grand scale. The centerpiece of the studio was Australia’s largest LED chandelier – built from a mix of ShowPro DreamPix fixtures, Martin Mac101’s, MAC Auras, RUSH MH4s, RUSH MH6s – all supported by ResX’s stock of Faceted Truss.  The chandelier required a whopping 120 DMX universes, all pixel mapped via a Pandoras Box media server.

Another stunning feature of ResX’s display were a bank of LED Hi-Bays – a custom-built fixture from ResX themselves, accompanied by colourful columns of Brix FC’s. ResX’s LED Hi-Bay works tremendously as an ‘eye candy’ effect for the rear of stage or as part of a set, whilst being incredibly lightweight it can easily be hung vertically or mounted horizontally. The Brix FC are some serious RGBW LED eye candy, able to array horizontally or vertically with individual pixel control.

The chill-out zone, ResX’s ‘beer garden’, was a great example of the range of outdoor fixtures available for a wide range of events, with ShowPro DreamFest, ResX Rain Covers, and Astera LightDrops just some of the fixtures on show.  ResX has hundreds of meters of DreamFest in stock, perfect for any modern twist on a timeless look, with RGB pixel control in an IP rated fitting.  Adding to the outdoor range, ResX can supply a wide range of rain covers, easily mounting between almost any rigging points and your fixtures.  This simple design gives an added level of protection whilst using indoor fixtures outdoors.  Not to be forgotten are the Astera LightDrops, a versatile wireless RGBW fixture sporting an IP65 rating and a battery life of up to 20 hours.

Creating a magical look alongside the beer garden was another great example of ResX’s Mirrorball Wall.  Using custom mirrorballs on droppers connected to heavy duty motors, a mirrorball wall can turn a classic effect into a jaw-dropping effect on a grand scale.
