Light Up Glenferrie

Light Up Glenferrie

Resolution X solidified their reputation as Australia’s number 1 outdoor lighting festival provider by designing and supplying the inaugural ‘Light Up Glenferrie’ night festival in July 2022.

Killed off by COVID closures numerous times, Resolution X was finally was able to present this festival lighting multiple key locations down the strip which included The Immaculate Conception Church, The Hawthorn Arts Centre, LIDO Cinemas, Historic Toolangi House as well as spreading light and gobo projections right along the shopping precinct from multiple locations.

Gear was chosen to combat the Melbourne wet and wild weather and included a host of;

  • ShowPro DreamFest RGB Festoon
  • ShowPro DreamPix Tube
  • ShowPro EX36 and Quad 18
  • Clay Paky Mythos 2 protected by Clay Paky Igloo Easy
  • Martin Mac Viper protected by ShowPro
  • Griven Imperial 4k Xenon Searchlights

The brief was simple; Light Up the iconic shopping and entertainment precinct of Glenferrie Rd Hawthorn, however the activation was made challenging by the fact the road would remain open to trams and traffic throughout the whole weekend which required a little resX thinking outside of the box.

Resolution X achieved the brief perfectly by spreading the lighting treatment smartly through the use of the custom manufactured lighting pods on the back of utility vehicles which could be simply driven into place each evening and removed each day. These custom made solutions housed an array of ShowPro Neptune fittings including the 400 Hybrid, The 400 Wash FX and the 200 Beam all of which provide significant value in a waterproof, reliable high impact product. ‘The hire price point of the Showpro Neptune range allows us to give our clients significant bang for buck in terms of the sheer amount of fixtures we can offer for the budget’ adds Jamie Russell, Senior Manager of the Hire & Production Team.

The event was a roaring success, with thousands of people flooding the popular precinct of the three nights of activation.
